Princesses Islands

Its name dates back to the Byzantine period, where it was considered an exile for princes and kings

They are nine major islands that vary in size.

The island of Buyuk Ada : It covers an area of ​​about 5.46 km², which is the largest islands area and population and contains historic buildings such as Al-Hamidiya Mosque .

 Most of the inhabitants of the island were Greeks, but after the Muslim population grew, Sultan Abdul Hamid II built the mosque.

 The Church of Ayia Yorgi dates back more than a thousand years to St. George of Cappadocia, who was martyred by pagans when he was commander of the Roman army in the third century BC, the church of Eos Demetrius and the monastery of Nicholas.

This island is one of the most famous islands where it was opened by Commander Suleiman Oglu and houses of this island characterized by old building, wooden construction and narrow streets, where there are cars and transportations are horses and bicycles and famous for its old pier and fish restaurants.

Hibili Ada Island (Kharj Al Dabah Island): The reason for this designation is that when viewed from a far , it looks like the bag that has fallen to the ground. It covers an area of ​​about 2.4 km2. It has a magnificent nature and contains many attractive sites including copper mines, the Maritime Academy and the Greek Orthodox School, in the midst of the pine trees.

Also there is  the Church of the Virgin Mary, the Monastery of Ayia Triada and the Church of Nicholas the Orthodox, It is the oldest church in this island. The Abbas Halim Pasha Palace and the Hibili Clinic, It is the first Turkish clinic established in 1924. The island can be navigated within horse-drawn carts, horses and bicycles.

 The island of Burgazada: Known by the Ottomans by the name of the fortress and was a park for non-Muslims during the Ottoman era, the third largest island estimated at about 1.5 km².

 Canela Island: 1.3 km².

Island of shells: an area of ​​0.157 km².

Yaslasada Island: an area of ​​about 0.05 km².

The island of Severada: It is estimated at an area of ​​about 0.05 km².

 Kasak Shells Island: an area of ​​about 0.006 km².
